In a limited-overs match, Team A's odds are 1.80 and Team B's are 2.00. You place a ৳1,000 bet on Team B. If Team B wins, you get back a total of ৳2,000 (৳1,000 profit); if Team A wins, you lose the full ৳1,000. Cricket matches have no draw, so one of the two outcomes is certain.

In a multi bet, the odds of all three selections are multiplied together. Taking Decimal 1.40, 1.60 and 1.90, the combined odds are 1.40 × 1.60 × 1.90 = 4.26 (approximately). A ৳100 stake returns ৳426 if all three win. But if any one selection loses, the entire ৳100 is lost — that is the risk of a multi bet.
